The giant statue’s golden eyes began to glow.
For a moment Daniel thought he imagined it — until the stone mouth slowly moved.
A deep voice echoed through the hall.
“You gamble with time,” the Monkey God said. “And you win.”
The vault door behind the statue opened with a thunderous rumble.
Inside was a mountain of chips, gold bars, and treasures.
But in the center was something stranger.
A CROT4D small wooden box.
The dealer picked it up and placed it in front of Daniel.
“Your prize.”
Daniel opened it.
Inside was a single coin.
Old.
Ancient.
Carved with the image of the Monkey God.
“What is this?” Daniel asked.
The dealer smiled.
“Luck.”
Daniel frowned.
“That’s it?”
The dealer leaned closer.
“Every gamble you make for the rest of your life… the Monkey God will watch.”
“And sometimes…”
“He will smile.”
The Exit
Daniel left the casino with the coin in his pocket.
When he turned around at the jungle path, the lights were gone.
The casino had vanished.
Only the ancient monkey statue remained among the ruins.]
For years afterward, Daniel became famous in gambling circles.
He won poker tournaments.
CROT4D Roulette streaks.
Impossible bets.
Whenever someone asked how he was so lucky, he would simply flip a strange coin between his fingers.
